Day One - Lilongwe
Your group will be met at Kamuzu International Airport, Lilongwe to transport you by private minibus for the approx 35-45 minute journey to your city accommodation.
Tonight's accommodation will be at Kumbali Country Lodge in ensuite rooms on a dinner, bed and breakfast rate. The hotel has an onsite restaurant and swimming pool.
Day Two to Four - Liwonde National Park
You’ll have an early breakfast today as your group embarks on a 4 hour journey to the Mvuu boat pickup point inside Liwonde National Park. It’s just a short 5 minute boat ride across the river where you’ll have lunch before your first afternoon game activity.
Accommodation for the next two nights will be at the Mvuu Wilderness Lodge in private ensuite tented chalets on a full board basis. You’ll have a total of six game activities during your stay. This exclusive safari getaway based right on the shores of the Shire river combines the rugged African bush with comfort and unforgettable game activities. With beautifully designed chalets and a cooling swimming pool - your time in between game activities will be almost as memorable.
Arguably the best national park in Malawi, Liwonde has a high concentration of elephants, hippos, crocodiles, antelope plus a rapidly growing population of cheetah, lion & other mammals. The most recently introduced black rhino and wild dogs make this park Malawi’s star attraction with its ‘Big 5’ status
Day Four to Seven - The Makokola Retreat
After your final morning game activity and breakfast, you’ll take a short 5 minute boat trip back across the Shire river where your driver will be waiting to take you for the 1.5 hour journey to The Makokola Retreat on the beautiful southern lakeshore.
You’ll be staying for two nights in a Lake Suite on an all-inclusive basis. All your meals, non-premium drinks, gelato, laundry and non-motorised activities will be included.
Enjoy stunning lakeshore views in style. The Makokola Retreat (fondly nicknamed Club Mak) offers several restaurants, cafes, and swimming pools in a beautiful complex with a range of accommodation options. The Lake Suite section was added as a luxury adults-only addition with its own infinity pool and private El Chiringuito Bar area only accessible to Lake Suite guests.
Day Seven to Nine - Blue Zebra Island Lodge
Your group will have an early breakfast and depart by 8.30am this morning to reach the boat pick-up point in Senga Bay. From here you’ll be transferred over to the luxury Blue Zebra Island Lodge by speedboat - just 20 minutes from mainland.
You’ll spend two nights in this luxury resort staying in an executive chalet on a full board basis.
With luxury ensuite safari tents, incredible food, fully stocked bar and an infinity pool, Blue Zebra offers comfort and style as well as a fantastic selection of activities like walking one of their trails to enjoy the undisturbed nature or taking an afternoon kayak. Day Nine - Lilongwe
Your group will be checking out of the chalets mid-morning today but staying for an extra lunch on the island. You’ll be able to make full use of the swimming pool, spa and activities until your private afternoon boat.
Your driver will then take you the 2 hour journey back to Lilongwe where you’ll spend the night at Kumbali Country Lodge on a dinner, bed and breakfast rate.
Day Ten to Thirteen - South Luangwa National Park, Zambia
After breakfast, you’ll depart Kumbali Country Lodge for the Zambian border at 8am. Your driver will be able to assist you at the border posts for a smooth crossing and you should arrive at Msandile River Lodge in time for a late lunch before your first game activity in South Luangwa National Park.
You will spend three nights at Msandile River Lodge in an ensuite chalet. All your meals will be included along with two game drives per day - a total of six during your stay in South Luangwa.
South Luangwa National Park boasts an abundance of game within a short drive from the safari lodges, with Leopard, Lion, Wild dog, Elephant, Giraffe, Hippo, Antelope, Zebra, to name but a few, along with a bird population of over 400 species.
Day Thirteen - Lilongwe
After your final morning game activity and breakfast, you’ll depart South Luangwa for the half day journey back to Lilongwe city where you’ll spend your last night at Kumbali Country Lodge again on a dinner, bed and breakfast rate.
Day Fourteen - Departure Day
After breakfast at your accommodation, your private taxi will take you to Kamuzu International Airport in time to check in for your departing flight.
