Tour Plan
Day One to Three - Game Haven
On arrival at Chileka International Airport, your driver will meet you and transfer you in a private taxi to Chimwenya Game Reserve - roughly an hour away from the airport. Accommodation will be at Game Haven in an ensuite room on a full board basis for two nights.
The lodge is in a private game reserve where your biggest worry is having zebras on the golf course blocking your shot off as they casually graze on the fairway. Beautiful spacious rooms, great food, numerous activities and a swimming pool are all included which make this a very popular destination.
Day Three to Six - Liwonde National Park
After breakfast you will journey to Liwonde National Park - around 3 hours away - and arrive in time for lunch and your first afternoon game activity.
Your accommodation for the next three nights will be in a private ensuite chalet at Kutchire Lodge on a full board basis with six game activities split over four days.
Arguably the best National Park in Malawi, Liwonde has a high concentration of elephants, hippos, crocodiles, antelope plus a rapidly growing population of cheetah, lion & other mammals. The most recently introduced black rhino and wild dogs make this park Malawi’s star attraction with its ‘Big 5’ status
Day Six - Lilongwe
After your final morning game activity and breakfast, you’ll start your 4 hour journey to Lilongwe. Tonight's accommodation will be at Sheila's Lodge (or similar) in a double ensuite room on a bed and breakfast rate. The hotel has an on-site restaurant or we can recommend several other good restaurants in the local area.
Day Seven to Ten - South Luangwa National Park, Zambia
With a very early start and breakfast-to-go, you’ll depart for the Zambian border by 6am. Your driver will be able to assist you at the border posts for a smooth crossing and you should arrive at Msandile River Lodge in time for your first evening game activity in South Luangwa National Park.
Accommodation for your three nights in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia will be at Msandile River Lodge in an ensuite safari tent (upgrades to chalets available) on a full board basis.
South Luangwa National Park boasts an abundance of game within a short drive from the safari lodges, with Leopard, Lion, Wild dog, Elephant, Giraffe, Hippo, Antelope, Zebra, to name but a few, along with a bird population of over 400 species. You’ll enjoy an early morning and evening game drives each day - a total of six during your stay in South Luangwa.
Day Ten - Lilongwe
Day Eleven - Lilongwe Airport - Departure Day
After breakfast at your accommodation, your private taxi will take you to Kamuzu International Airport in time to check in for your departing flight.
